These are the daily reminders that keep me balanced and happy. I am human so I do get angry or upset at times, but at most times of the day I can honestly say I am happy. I love to smile and enjoy life. I amuse myself and find happiness in the little things. As we evolve into spring my mind is constantly in motion thinking of where to go and what to do and I cannot stop cleaning and organizing. In the last 24 hours I have cleaned out my home office and redesigned its setting. I changed the color of my office from green aqua to Himalayan poppy and I feel refreshed. This calming sensation is also what I experience when I feel free and I am traveling solo. I am not afraid to travel by myself even though people ask me that question all of the time. It is a choice. I am blessed to travel with my family, friends, students and best of all- myself!
There’s an undeniable sense of freedom that comes from traveling alone, without help, rules or guidelines. Every day is a mystery and it’s completely unique to you, so make the most of it. Traveling alone will build immense life skills, such as social prowess, a keen sense of direction and the ability to adapt to change and uncomfortable environments, to name a few. By the time you come home, you won’t need anyone’s input to reach your goals. Mingle with locals, try an off-the-beaten-path restaurant and just soak it all in. Being on a solo journey I was able to notice things that I might have missed in a conversation or on a tour in a group, but my first time traveling alone was in Italy and I realized at that moment, I became a “wander woman” and would forever be chasing the high on solo traveling.
I am eager to embark on my next solo adventure to Cuba. Stay tuned for more pictures, stories and history. Feel free to leave me comments. Please keep reading my travel blog and follow me on Instagram @tedeschi_the_traveler.
