When you travel with someone you really get to know them inside and out. When you are already best friends this extends even more. You know what each other loves and hates and you know each others moods. Being friends with someone is one thing, but traveling with them? Well, that is an entirely different story. Traveling with someone really gives you the chance to know that person and how similar you really are in life, ideals and culture. Many people are not so lucky to have an amazing travel companion, but I am lucky to have this bond with two of my best friends- Anne & Kerri. I love these ladies so much and being able to travel with them only makes our friendship that much better. We are never at a loss for things to talk about or laugh at when we are together and reminisce about our journeys. They say friends are the family we choose for ourselves and this is proven with these women. My friendship with Kerri has been for 18 years and my friendship with Anne has been for 35 years. I cherish both and cannot wait for our next adventure together!
When you travel with your best friend your experience is enhanced. You have a million inside jokes that are hilarious and only you can understand. You can say a single word or name and start laughing uncontrollably or you understand each other with a simple look. This is a sign you have an inner circle and it may seem exclusive to some but that is just because we have developed our own language and laughter along the way. The best part is people know you as travel buddies and nickname you as such. People tend to know you as where you come from. It is even funnier to see people react when you are not out as a package and they are used to always seeing you together.
When you are traveling with your best friends you help each other overcome obstacles, learn from each other and become each others’ number one fans. You grow by helping each other grow, and encourage each other every step of the way. You will always be close and will always remember moments from your travels together as you plan for your next trip. The fact of the matter is- friends who can travel together stay together!
