This June I will be attending some wonderful charity events. I’m so excited to bust out the gowns, get my hair and make-up done. Both, of these events are true to my heart. My nephew is Autistic and my Aunt Esther was like a 2nd mother to me passed from Breast Cancer, along with great friends go through chemo but kicked cancer in the keister!
June 8th: I will be attending the SASI (Suffolk Autism/Asperger’s Support Information) ~ Blue is the New Black at The Inn at East Wind in Wading River ~ this going to be an amazing night for a worthy cause. A little about Asperger’s: it’s a subtype of Autism and considered to be on the high functioning end. They have repetitive behaviors, motor skill development may lead to clumsiness/uncoordinated motor movements and difficulty with social interaction.
June 26th: I will be at the Hospitality Ball at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. This is a premiere Long Island culinary, wine and spirits event featuring the best of Long Island, all proceeds go to the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. This is a premiere Long Island culinary, wine and spirts event featuring the best of the best on Long Island benefitting the Carol M. Baldwin Research Fun.
BOTH, OF THESE EVENTS ARE EVENINGS FILLED WITH MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT AND A WIDE ARRAY OF RAFFLES!!
I want to give a big Thank You to Ed Shin for introducing me to Stephannie Packer Mendleson who is one of the founding members of SASI. I hope with all my blogging it will lead to more in attendance. I can’t wait to meet you as well as having you on my show in August. It’s going to be a very informative show!! AS WELL AS A NO CURSING SHOW.
SHIN DON’T EAT ALL THE FOOD BEFORE I GET THERE…..YOU HAVE COMPETITION!!!!!
Another Thank You goes out to Jim Savalli for being a BIG PART of the Hospitality Ball and for the invite! I’m so excited to attend this. With my thanking to Jim for the invite.
I also need to Thank him for all his help in guiding me into great, success, every week my numbers grow steadily as well as having people come up to me in the streets or emailing me telling me how awesome my show is! I'm totally digging this!!
Last week was really, intense. I ran out of gigs on my hot spot (I ran through 7 gigs) so I had to scoot and look for internet access. I will admit I can’t stand when stupid thigs like this happen but they do and I made it through the week but most of all I made it through the show. Thank God Dan Acosta, Woody Woods, Joe Perretta and Jim Savalli were, able to back me up with fast answers and subjects. At one point, I went blank!! I never go blank when I have time to prewrite a few things!
The No No Word
I’ve had people tell me what I’m doing is not fun or they can’t do it, it’s my show and I want to help raise some funds for my nephew’s school. Nicky is autistic and he is well taken care of. So, I donate the money to the school and if there are kids there that don’t have or something the school needs I hope with my help they can get it.
I haven’t decided what the word is this week but since Joeys dad is coming on. I may have to up it, he’s acceptably tricky at least, he’s only tricky I got called Shady one time too many. THEN AGAIN, I DESERVED IT!
